Darrell is a model on the rise from the Dallas area. We had the pleasure of beginning to work with Darrell at the very end of 2017 and we have been so impressed by his personal drive and professionalism. Darrell has been involved in many photo shoots and also has experience as a promotional model. We are very proud to be representing this fine young man and believe his star is rapidly rising!
What was your first ‘big break’ and how did it come about?
I would have to say that my biggest break was when I was 16 and was given the opportunity to be a “Cast Out” for Hollister back in 2011. It was then that made me think I had what it took to make it somewhere in modeling/acting. From that point, I started working out more (besides the 5 days a week at cheer practice and coaching) and cleaning up my social media; making it more professional.
What would you say is your biggest achievement so far and why?
My biggest achievement so far is how far I’ve come since pursuing this journey. It’s no walk in the park to become a model/actor. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of photos. Ha-ha!
How do you like to stay fit/active?
Well, coming from someone who cheered for 7 years, that’s how I used to stay in shape. Once I stopped back in 2016, I started working out at the gym and running Katy Trail to stay in shape.
What’s your favorite food?
If I had to pick one thing to be my favorite: Would be crawfish or anything seafood. I’ve always loved the spices and extra that comes with a big ol’ bowl of crawfish, corn, and sausage.
Any advice for people wanting to start acting/modeling?
For those of you who have ever felt that you’re not good enough or that you don’t think that you have what it takes to be a model because of what others might have to say, just think this: “I was brought into this world same as everyone else, and I deserve the same opportunity as them.” I’ll be honest there were times I didn’t think I was good, but what’s the worst that can happen? They don’t call you back or you get a no. That’s going to happen, you’ll get 100 no’s before you get a yes.
What song best describes you?
If I had to pick one song I would have to pick “Clothes Off” by Amigos. The reason I would pick this song to describe me is because, if you listen to the song it’s basically saying that you can go out, meet someone, and not automatically think that you have to sleep with them.
What would you be if you weren’t an actor/model?
If I weren’t a model I would have been pursuing dance. It’s more my side hobby. I actually tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blues Dance team and made it to finals last year.
Tell me something about you not many people know.
The necklace around my neck was once my Dads that he wore his whole life, then passed down to me once he passed when I was 14.
What do you like doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy photography and running. I’m a bit of a “can’t stay in one place” kinda guy. I enjoy being out and meeting new people at mixers or events that I attended as often as I can.
If Nine9 could set you up with a dream role/gig, what would it be?
If I could I would act or be a part of a show or dream role or it would be: To be cast with Dylan O’Brian or Ansel Elgort. I’ve loved both of these characters in all the movies they have been cast in. Baby Driver and Maze Runner are my top two featuring them.
