When your jetting from one gig to the next, it’s important to pack on-the-go energy options that will fill you up and keep you satisfied.  Instead of fueling up on caffeine and energy drinks, nutritionist Frida Harju suggests stashing some of these wonder foods in your bag.

Greek yogurt

This protein-rich yogurt will fill you up, and it’s packed with probiotics that will keep your gut healthy.  Greek yogurt also contains high levels of calcium for heart and bone health.

Almonds

Almonds are also high in protein and very filling.  A handful offers a quick and satisfying mid-day snack that’s easy to bring along on your jam-packed day.

Avocados

A great additive to any salad or as a stand-alone snack, avocados are full of fiber and healthy fats.  The body digests these at a slower rate than simple carbohydrates, which means you’ll stay fuller longer.

Hard-boiled Eggs

The good-for-you fats and protein found in one of these craving-satisfiers will keep you full and full of energy for hours on end.  They also keep blood sugar levels stable.

Potatoes

Spuds are full of fiber and complex carbs, which keep energy levels up longer.  Potatoes also contain immune-boosting ingredients which will keep your body operating at its best.

Walnuts

A handful of these nuts will instantly decrease stress levels, which is great for calming nerves before the next audition.  They contain omega-3 fatty acids that are known for keeping the body energized.

Homemade Trail Mix

This nutrient-dense option contains a perfect balance of macronutrients, carbohydrates, protein, and good-for-you fats. Consider adding raw almonds, dried cranberries or cherries, and dark chocolate chips for an extra energy boost and one that will fill you up for a long period of time. Other great options include lightly salted pumpkin seeds, soy nuts, and sunflower seeds.  For added flavor and nutrients, consider throwing in garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.”
