Facebook can be an incredible marketing tool for you as a model or actor and a great way to connect with industry professionals, other models and actors, and even to find casting calls for projects in your area. We wrote previously on Nine9 Mag about The Essentialness of Social Media. If you haven’t read that article yet and you’re not posting on all the essential sites right now, be sure to give it a quick read!

If you currently have a Facebook account, you may have noticed that you don’t always see posts from all the pages you like or even some of the people you follow. Have you ever wondered why that is? Well, Facebook’s algorithm is more likely to present posts on your Newsfeed from people and pages you interact with often. While this is an awesome way that the platform keeps your News Feed relevant, you may be missing some content or even casting opportunities from Facebook pages you follow.

Did you know that you can take an easy step to make sure you’re seeing every post from pages or people you follow? It’s super simple and only takes a few seconds. All you need to do is head to the Facebook page you want to make sure you’re seeing posts from, like the page,f and then click on the “Following” option. You’ll see a few options pop up for Newsfeed Preferences which include See First, Default, and Unfollow. By clicking See First you’ll give posts priority on your News Feed which is great for staying connected to your friends, business associates, or casting opportunities you don’t want to miss out on!

Here’s the breakdown from Facebook which explains the whole process step by step:

When you select a person or Page to see first, their posts appear at the top of the News Feed. The person or Page won’t know you selected them.

To use see first from your News Feed preferences:

  1. Click Prioritize who to see first.
  2. Select a person or Page to see first.

To use see first from a profile or Page:

  1. If you’re not already following the profile or Page, click Follow near their cover photo.
  2. Hover over Following or Liked near their cover photo.
  3. Select See First.

Note: You can select up to 30 people or Pages to see first. Your selections aren’t ranked (example: your first selection isn’t seen first, your second selection isn’t seen second).
